As Alicia was digging in her bag to reach for her pistol, the question as to who was behind her was finally answered. In her rearview mirrors flashed red, white, and blue lights. Alicia didn’t at all feel a sense of nervousness, but decided not to pull over just yet. Years ago, she had been through this same type of harassment, when all the Feds really wanted to do was to send a message to King through her. She had witnessed it all from, ‘Tell ole King we said hello’, to an occasional thorough search of her car. That was over fifteen years ago, when King was playing a cat and mouse game with them. This time around, King had given her his word that he was keeping his hands clean. To her knowledge, he had never lied to her. So, why were there police lights flashing in her rearview?

Alicia pulled over to the side of the road, put her car in park, then just sat back. She felt somewhat relieved that her night wouldn’t end with more drama coming from Shawn, but in no way was she expecting this…

“Miss Miller, could you please step out of the car,” she heard a voice order her.

Alicia unlocked her seatbelt, and without even taking a look at who the voice belonged to, she slowly opened her car door, stepped out, and came face to face with a tall, dark skin bald headed and suited F.B.I. Agent.

Agent Jackson, who at first sight of Alicia, found her extremely attractive, even with her expression clearly showing much attitude. “Miss Miller, I’m not here to harass you, but there’s been a problem.”

“Concernin'?” She asked, with her arms folded across her chest.

“You. Do you own the home at 2013 Rudy Road?”

Alicia almost answered the question, but something inside told her that now was a good time to exercise her right to remain silent.

“Okay,” Jackson said, given her silence, and after noticing a change in her body language, “Let’s just skip all the bullshit. The home you own at 2013 Rudy Road was targeted by a few local burglars in which a handgun that was involved in a recent murder was stolen out of that house. I understand…”

“Wait a second,” she cut him off, “First of all, that house has been abandoned for the past five years.”

“That may be, but, the fact here is that there was a handgun stolen from your property.”

“Are you insinuatin’ that I murdered someone?”

“Absolutely not. What I’m trying to get you to understand is that this handgun must belong to you, or someone else who has access to that house.”

“Excuse me, but what is your name?”

“Oh… I’m sorry,” he said, before flashing his badge, “I’m FBI Agent Darren Jackson.”

“Well, FBI Agent Darren Jackson, no one besides myself has access to that house.”

“You sure about that?”

“Am I s…? Look, don’t play fuckin’ games wit’ me! We both know that if I was a suspect in any murder, I would’ve been under arrest by now!
